Seldom has a beard been so riveting. Set amidst the deepest red burgundy, the orange beard glows brightly. The remainder of the mid-tone flower provides an attractive contrast. Except for the center of the falls, the flower is a dusky red self, flaring with curvaceous pleats. Nine buds, most double-socketed. with 3 branches, attest to the plant vigor. Grows to 36 inches tall and blooms mid season.

Iris rhizomes are best divided and transplanted after the plants finish blooming and have enough time to store nutrition in their roots. July through September is the best time to dig them up in Ohio. All Iris are grown on my farm and shipped from my home, bareroot with foliage and roots attached.
