Dark violet standards and heavily ruffled and flared nearly black falls. The rusty terra cotta beards really set the dark falls off. Blooms early to mid season on 34 inch stalks.
Iris rhizomes are best divided and transplanted after the plants finish blooming and have enough time to store nutrition in their roots. July through September is the best time to dig them up in Ohio. All Iris are grown on my farm and shipped from my home, bareroot with foliage and roots attached.
