Be on the lookout, plicata posse, for this heart-stealer. Golden tan standards ruffled and well held; semi-flared falls with rich red brown borders invading the lemon yellow ground which then pales to white. Fairly inconspicuous beards are holed up in the flower’s center. No single-shot hombre, his arsenal is nine buds carried on three branches and a terminal, and he’s not coming down easy. Grows to 35 inches tall and blooms early to mid season.
Iris rhizomes are best divided and transplanted after the plants finish blooming and have enough time to store nutrition in their roots. July through September is the best time to dig them up in Ohio. All Iris are grown on my farm and shipped from my home, bareroot with foliage and roots attached.
