Note the dark violet horns extending an inch or more from the beards. Like talons, they create an appealing contrast to the flowers delicate shadings. These grayish yellow and greenish tan shades are lighter in the standards and darker in the falls. A prolific bloomer and often yeilds more than one stem per rhizome. Blooms mid to late season on 37 inch stalks.
Iris rhizomes are best divided and transplanted after the plants finish blooming and have enough time to store nutrition in their roots. July through September is the best time to dig them up in Ohio. All Iris are grown on my farm and shipped from my home, bareroot with foliage and roots attached.
BONUS rhizomes are always included at an average rate of 1 for every 5 purchased...my choice.
