These lovely ground ruffled plants have creamy white ruffled leaves that are beautifully accented with a reddish-brown stitched band. The light reddish-brown standards have a hint of green near the middle. This Australian import, known as the red plicata, produces 8-10 double-socketed buds. It reaches about 36 inches in height and blooms in the middle of the season.
Iris rhizomes are best divided and transplanted after the plants finish blooming and have enough time to store nutrition in their roots. July through September is the best time to dig them up in Ohio. All Iris are grown on my farm and shipped from my home, bareroot with foliage and roots attached. BONUS rhizomes are always included at an average rate of 1 for every 5 purchased...my choice.
