The striking yellow beards are the star of the show! The deep coal black color shines through the petals, even on the shoulders and style arms. The playful ruffles add a touch of magic. It reaches about 39 inches in height and blooms in the middle of the season.
Iris rhizomes are best divided and transplanted after the plants finish blooming and have enough time to store nutrition in their roots. July through September is the best time to dig them up in Ohio. All Iris are grown on my farm and shipped from my home, bareroot with foliage and roots attached.
