READY FOR MY CLOSEUP - Tall Bearded Iris Black 2014 Honorable Mention 2016 Heavily ruffled and laced flowers are near perfection of form. Red color over parts of the flower is enough to keep one working to spread that color over the entire flower. Rose claret standards blend to rose mauve margins. Mid fuchsia fall centers blend to wide ruby red bands and hafts. Heavily saturated dark burnt orange beards amplify the red appearance. Growth is strong and vigorous. Show stalks are the norm. Grows to 35" inches tall and blooms early to mid season.
Iris rhizomes are best divided and transplanted after the plants finish blooming and have enough time to store nutrition in their roots. July through September is the best time to dig them up in Ohio. All Iris are grown on my farm and shipped from my home, bareroot with foliage and roots attached.
