Minnesota Mixed up Kid - Boarder Bearded Iris
Worel 2003
This unknown variety has been traded around Minnesota gardens since at least the 1970s with little knowledge of its origins or name. Minnesota iris breeder Jack Worel gave it a proper moniker in 2003 when he registered it, aptly, as 'Minnesota Mixed-Up Kid'. White to light cream flowers are splattered with irregular purple and yellow streaks and dots. Eccentric and eclectic! Grows to 25" inches tall and blooms early to mid season.
Iris rhizomes are best divided and transplanted after the plants finish blooming and have enough time to store nutrition in their roots. July through September is the best time to dig them up in Ohio. All Iris are grown on my farm and shipped from my home, bareroot with foliage and roots attached.
BONUS rhizomes are always included at an average rate of 1 for every 5 purchased...my choice.
