Major Issue - Tall Bearded Iris Keppel 2018 A major issue in qualifying as a garden subject is visual impact, which this one has to spare. A “common” color, a neglecta with clear light blue standards and cornflower blue falls with a slightly lighter band. Blue beards frosted lighter at the end, tipped apricot yellow in the throat. Tall, large, rounded and ruffled, you cannot ignore it. The other major issue, good growth, is not a problem. Grows to 40" inches tall and blooms mid to late season.
Iris rhizomes are best divided and transplanted after the plants finish blooming and have enough time to store nutrition in their roots. July through September is the best time to dig them up in Ohio. All Iris are grown on my farm and shipped from my home, bareroot with foliage and roots attached. BONUS rhizomes are always included at an average rate of 1 for every 5 purchased...my choice.
