Near-horizontal falls make this best for close-up admiration, rather than viewing from afar. Ruffled white standards are closed; grey white to pale blue falls, lightening with age, sport a striking elongated darker blue central blotch and dark blue end to the beard. Iris rhizomes are best divided and transplanted after the plants finish blooming and have enough time to store nutrition in their roots. July through September is the best time to dig them up in Ohio. All Iris are grown on my farm and shipped from my home, bareroot with foliage and roots attached.
