FILM NOIR - Tall Bearded Iris

A somber yet striking iris. Dark, almost blackish purple standards with faint cream speckling. Falls with a slightly warmer dotted edge merging into the yellow ground. Inconspicuous brown to mustard beards. Sounds dull, but surprisingly it stands out in the garden, especially in hotter weather when the yellow ground becomes brighter. Grows to 37" and blooms mid late season.
Iris rhizomes are best divided and transplanted after the plants finish blooming and have enough time to store nutrition in their roots. July through September is the best time to dig them up in Ohio. All Iris are grown on my farm and shipped from my home, bareroot with foliage and roots attached.
